The pin insert creates a solid foundation for a crown on a severely damaged tooth.

A single post-and-core is an individual restoration that simultaneously strengthens the root and forms a stump for subsequent crown placement. Unlike a fibre post, a cast post-and-core is fabricated precisely to the canal shape and provides optimal load distribution.
The indication is significant tooth destruction when restoration with a filling is not possible. At iDenta the post-and-core is made from an impression in a dental laboratory and cemented in place.
