Dental surgeon in Łódź

What is dental surgery
Dental surgery covers all procedures involving incision of tissues: tooth extractions (simple and complex), removal of impacted wisdom teeth, cyst excision, abscess drainage and frenectomy.
At iDenta clinic in Łódź, all operations are performed under local anaesthesia — the procedure is painless. We use modern suture materials and follow a protocol for accelerated socket healing.
Dental surgery in Łódź — planned, without queues, in a sterile surgical field. After a complex extraction, we refer for implantation or a bridge if needed.

Follow-up
Check-up appointment in 7–10 days
How to prepare for surgery
Eat a light meal 2–3 hours before
Anaesthesia does not require fasting
No alcohol for 24 hours
Alcohol dilates blood vessels and increases bleeding
Inform us of any medications
Anticoagulants and some drugs require dose adjustment
Bring someone along for complex procedures
Driving is not recommended after anaesthesia
After surgery — what to know
For the first 2 hours, hold the gauze pad firmly by biting down — this will stop the bleeding. Do not rinse your mouth or spit — you will dislodge the clot.
For the first 24 hours, apply ice to your cheek in 15-minute intervals. Eat soft foods; avoid hot drinks, alcohol and smoking — they slow healing and increase the risk of dry socket.
Swelling and mild pain for 2–3 days is normal. Take the prescribed pain relief. If pain worsens on day 3–4 or a foul odour appears — contact us immediately: these are signs of dry socket.
Sutures are removed after 7–10 days.
When a pre-operative consultation is needed
Most patients require no special preparation. Please inform us in advance if you:
- Take anticoagulants (warfarin, NOACs) — a cardiologist consultation on dose adjustment is required
- Have diabetes — healing is slower; blood sugar control is important
- Take bisphosphonates (for osteoporosis) — risk of jaw osteonecrosis
- Are pregnant — elective procedures are postponed to the second trimester; emergency procedures can be performed at any stage
An acute abscess with high fever requires antibiotics first, then surgical drainage.
