Root canal treatment in Łódź

What is root canal treatment
Endodontic (root canal) treatment is a procedure in which the inflamed or necrotic dental pulp is removed, the canals are cleaned and hermetically filled. This saves a tooth that would otherwise need to be extracted.
At iDenta clinic in Łódź, root canal treatment is performed under magnification using nickel-titanium rotary instruments. The procedure is painless under anaesthesia and takes 1–2 visits. After treatment, the tooth is restored with a crown for lasting protection.
Modern root canal treatment in Łódź means high precision, no pain, and a long-term prognosis — a correctly treated tooth can last for decades.

How to prepare for root canal treatment
Take antibiotics if prescribed
A full course reduces inflammation before and after treatment
Eat before the visit
Eating is not possible for several hours after anaesthesia
A pain reliever can be taken 1 hour before
Ibuprofen eases the wait if pain is severe
Report all health conditions and medications
Especially important for diabetes and anticoagulants
After root canal treatment
Sensitivity and mild tenderness on pressure for the first 3–5 days is a normal post-treatment reaction. Take the prescribed pain relief.
Do not place load on the treated tooth with hard food until the crown is fitted — without a crown the tooth is brittle and may fracture. We recommend having a permanent crown placed within 1–2 months of completing endodontic treatment.
If pain intensifies, swelling or a sinus tract (fistula) appears — contact us immediately: re-infection or retreatment may be needed.
When a tooth cannot be saved
In rare cases, endodontic treatment is not possible or not worthwhile:
- Vertical root fracture — the tooth cannot be saved; extraction and implantation are indicated
- Severe root resorption — the root is destroyed from within; treatment is ineffective
- Non-negotiable canals (obliteration, complex anatomy) — we discuss alternatives with the patient
- Significant loss of bone support — the prognosis for the tooth is poor
In such cases, we explain the situation and discuss extraction and prosthetic options (implant, bridge).
