An adaptation visit is a mandatory step in orthodontic treatment, held 1–2 weeks after fitting fixed or removable braces. The orthodontist assesses the patient's adaptation, checks the mucosa and if needed adjusts the arch wire or activates the appliance.
This visit is especially important for children and patients undergoing orthodontic treatment for the first time. At iDenta the adaptation visit is included in the orthodontic care programme.
