Metal, ceramic, self-ligating or removable? A comparison with prices.
Crowded teeth are harder to clean, so decay and tartar build up more easily. A faulty bite also puts extra load on individual teeth and on the jaw joints. That is why we fit braces for children and adults alike.
The right choice depends mainly on your bite and on how discreet you want the appliance to be. Price plays a part too: starting prices for fixed systems differ by as much as 1800 zł.
Braces are brackets bonded to the teeth and joined by a wire that moves them gradually. You wear them all the time, and the orthodontist adjusts the wire at check-ups. A removable appliance is a plate the child takes out themselves. We use it mostly for children, because it works best while the jaw is still growing.
All related services are listed under orthodontics.
These are the problems people most often come to us with. The orthodontist decides on treatment after an examination.
Overlapping teeth trap plaque in the gaps. Decay starts there more easily.
For example, a gap between the upper front teeth. Sometimes it affects speech.
The lower or upper jaw sits too far forward.
The teeth do not meet properly and the jaw joints are overloaded. Left untreated in a child, a crossbite can lead to facial asymmetry.
With a faulty bite, a few teeth take all the load and wear down faster.
Prosthetic work is easier to plan once the teeth are straight.
Prices come from our price list and are starting prices. We confirm the final figure after a consultation and diagnostics.

The most common choice: they cost the least and are very strong. They suit most bite problems. We adjust or change the wire roughly every four to six weeks.
They work exactly like metal braces. The one difference is colour: the brackets match your teeth, so at talking distance they are hard to spot. Adults who deal with people at work often pick them.
Instead of elastic ties, tiny clips hold the wire in the brackets, which reduces friction. We offer two systems. ProGate usually means fewer check-ups. T-control gives the orthodontist very fine control over where each tooth ends up.
A plate with a screw. The child takes it out to eat and brush. The screw slowly widens the arch and makes room for the permanent teeth; the two-screw version works in two directions.
How to prepare a child for a first check-up is covered in our article on the first visit to a children's dentist.
Fixed expanders attached to bands. We fit them in children and teenagers who are still growing, to widen an upper jaw that is too narrow. They are often the first stage before braces.
iDenta dentist's tip: Patients often ask us which braces are best. For many bite problems any fixed system will give a similar result, and the difference comes down mostly to looks and price. At the consultation, ask directly what the more expensive brackets would change in your case. If metal braces will do the job, we will tell you so.
The appliance is only part of the bill.
On top of the appliance you pay for the consultation, diagnostics, check-ups and retention. Based on our price list, it looks like this:
Braces usually stay on for one to two years. That adds up to quite a few check-ups, and in a longer treatment their total can come close to the price of the braces themselves. So we set out the full cost in the treatment plan before the first bracket goes on.
iDenta dentist's tip: Budget for the retainer from day one, not at the end. We regularly see teeth drift back after braces come off because the retainer was abandoned after a few weeks. Wear it for as long as your orthodontist says, and bring it along to your check-ups.
From the first visit to the day the braces come off.
The orthodontist looks at your bite and asks what bothers you. You go through the options together.
A scan or impressions, plus any X-rays needed.
We choose the appliance and give you the timeline and the full cost.
Usually one visit. Bonding the brackets does not hurt.
Every four to six weeks the orthodontist adjusts or changes the wire and checks how the teeth are moving.
A retainer keeps the teeth in their new place.
After a week or two, braces usually stop bothering you.
Teeth ache when you bite, and the brackets rub your cheeks. Orthodontic wax and soft food make a big difference.
Your tongue stops exploring the brackets and your speech is back to normal.
The first check-up. Once the wire is adjusted, the pressure may come back for a day or two, sometimes three.
Check-ups and careful cleaning. An orthodontic toothbrush and interdental brushes help.
Wear your retainer as your orthodontist advises. Otherwise the teeth can shift back.
