Root apex resection is a minimally invasive surgical procedure during which 3–4 mm of the root tip together with pathologically altered tissue (cyst, granuloma) is removed. This eliminates a chronic inflammatory focus while preserving the tooth itself.
The operation is performed under local anaesthesia through a small gum incision. After removing the apex the cavity is irrigated, treated and retrofilled if needed. At iDenta the procedure is performed under a microscope for precision and safety.
