A titanium post creates a strong foundation for a crown in a severely damaged tooth.

A titanium post is a metal structure inserted into the root-filled canal to create a foundation for a crown or restoration. It is stronger than fiberglass but less flexible — load can be transmitted to the root.
Used when tooth destruction is extensive and a fiberglass post is insufficient. Cemented in place. The procedure takes 30–45 minutes.
